Shipping & Production Times

How do I know if my order went through?

After your order is placed, you will receive an email confirming your order number when your payment is successfully processed. Megan then personally reviews the details of each order and if she has any questions, she will reach out to you via phone or email.

What service do you use for shipping?

At this time, we use USPS as our shipping carrier

Will you notify me when my order ships?

Absolutely! You’ll receive a message when your order ships. A tracking number will be included for all countries where tracking numbers are available.

How long will it take to receive my order?

If you purchased an item from our “Ready to Ship” section, that item will be shipped out the next business day. The rest of our items are made to order and most of them require a 1-2 weeks production time, plus shipping. A few of the larger bags require 2-3 weeks production time, plus shipping. Each listing should have the production time specified within the listing description.

DOMESTIC SHIPPING: Actual shipping times vary depending on the shipping option you selected and the destination address. Within the USA, USPS First Class Mail typically takes 3-5 business days total shipping time and USPS Priority Mail typically takes 2-3 business days total shipping time.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: Actual shipping times vary depending on the shipping option you selected and the destination address. The customs process of the destination country plays a large role in the delivery time. In some countries, packages move quickly through customs while in other countries the customs process takes noticeably longer. Megan’s Mark has no control over the customs process of the destination country.

Since Megan’s Mark has no control over the shipping process, we cannot guarantee a specific arrival date. If tracking numbers are available for the destination address, one will be provided in the shipping email you receive so you can keep an eye on the shipping progress of your order.

HELP! My anniversary/wedding/etc. is really soon and I waited until the last minute. Can you rush my order?

The short answer: not really. But…

….we have a “Ready to Ship” section with items that are already made and ready to ship out the next business day after receipt of payment. Megan tries to keep a variety of items available in that section for customers in a time crunch.

If the item(s) you’re wanting is not in the “Ready to Ship” section, the standard production time applies. See the listing description for the particular item you’re interested in. Since Megan makes each item to order, by herself, there isn’t much wiggle room to speed up the process. If you have a specific date that you’re hoping to have your item, feel free to let us know in the order notes at checkout. We’ll do our best but cannot guarantee order completion earlier than the stated production time.

Rest assured, Megan works diligently to make each item as quickly as possible without compromising quality.

I live in Georgia, can I pick up my order?

At this time, we do not offer local pick-up.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship to all countries serviced by the USPS.

Personalization & Custom Orders

Wallet Insert Cards – how do I let you know what I want stamped on the card?

During the checkout process, you’ll see an area for “order notes”. Type the message you want added to the card in this area. Make sure to double check your spelling, punctuation, etc. as Megan will stamp the text exactly as it’s provided in the order notes.

To avoid any delays in production, when choosing your message for the wallet card, please refer to the guidelines for maximum character and line allowances that are laid out in the listing description. Each card is a fixed size, and Megan cannot fit text on the card that falls outside those guidelines.

Can I get my item personalized?

Personalization is offered on most items. We have included details in each listing to specify if that item may be personalized and if so, what type(s) of personalization is applicable.

Branding, riveted metal, and leather plaque personalization options are add-on features offered for an additional fee. To add personalization to your item, first check the description for that particular item listing to ensure it is available for personalization. If it is, select the appropriate personalization type from the “Personalization” section and add it to your cart. You must have BOTH the item and the appropriate personalization in your cart.

I saw an item on your Instagram/Facebook page that I want but I don’t see it in your shop. What’s up with that??

First, thanks for visiting us on social media! Megan often does custom work. If your request involves a simple modification to an existing item/design, Megan may be able to work out the details over email. If it’s something fairly complex, it may require a custom consultation to work through your needs. First, shoot Megan an email with as much detail as possible (including where you saw the item…Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and she will direct you from there.

Returns

What is your refund policy?

CUSTOM ORDER & PERSONALIZATION DETAILS:
If Megan’s Mark makes a mistake on your custom or personalized item, we will gladly make a new one for you. If the mistake is not ours, we cannot replace it free of charge. Please double check all information provided in your order (i.e. names, initials, measurements, monograms, dates, phone numbers, etc) because once production of your items has begun, Megan cannot rework stamped/personalized items free of charge.

RETURNS:
Custom and personalized items are NON-returnable. This includes any item ordered with personalized text (name, date, initials, monogram, custom saying/quote/image/etc.) and any item with custom details such as custom color, custom feature, size, etc.

Items that do not fall in the custom or personalized category may be returned for a full refund of the item price (minus shipping costs) for up to 14 days after receipt of initial delivery. If for any reason, you are not satisfied with your purchase, please contact us and we will provide you our address to return your item. When we receive your returned item in original condition, we will then process a full refund of the item cost (minus shipping).

Leathercare

How do I care for my leather item(s)?

Taking care of your leather item(s) will keep leather in the best condition possible, preventing wrinkles and hide degradation. To prolong the life of your leather good(s), follow these LEATHERCARE TIPS:

>> Store leather in a breathable container. If you won’t be using your leather item for a long period of time, it’s helpful to store it in a fabric bag. Do not store it in plastic because leather needs to breathe and plastic prohibits that.

>> Keep the leather clean. Use a damp cloth to remove dirt and grime from it, but avoid soaking the leather. If heavily soiled, you may want to use a professional leather cleaner. Never use regular soaps or cleansers as they will remove the oils used to preserve the leather. Chamberlains Leather, Tandy, and Springfield Leather all offer suitable options for professional leather cleaners and can be found online. Here are a few of Megan’s favorites.

>> Apply leather conditioner. Exposure to elements like heat, sunlight and moisture will jeopardize the leather’s quality. Applying a leather conditioner will help offset the effects of these elements, further retain moisture, and preserve leather quality. Chamberlains Leather, Tandy, and Springfield also offer suitable options for professional leather conditioners. Follow manufacturer’s directions and always test cleaners and conditioners on an inconspicuous area of your leather before applying to the entire piece. Begin with a light application—more is not always better. You can always apply additional coats if needed. Here are a few of Megan’s favorites.

>> Enjoy Your Leather! What good is something if you can’t have fun with it, right? Don’t be afraid to use your new leather item(s). Everyday wear and tear will add more charm to your item. Each mark you add to it will tell its story to others and make it truly yours.

MISCELLANEOUS

I’m buying this for a gift and having it shipped directly to the recipient. Can you include a note when you ship it?

Sure! First, ensure that you’ve entered the recipient’s address in the “ship to” section. Then, in the order notes, leave us a message indicating that you’d like a gift note included and the text you’d like included on the note.

I see some items described as vegetable tanned leather (“veg tanned”) and some as chrome tanned leather. What’s the difference?

The main difference between the two is in how they are tanned.
Chrome tanned leathers are tanned using chromium salts and are usually dyed during the tanning process so the color is already set when Megan receives the hide. Typically, chrome tanned leather is more supple than vegetable tanned leather and chrome tanned leathers do not accept “stamping.”

Vegetable tanned leathers (a.k.a. veg tanned) are tanned using natural tannins from bark, plants, wood, leaves, etc. It is typically not dyed during the tanning process so Megan hand dyes it to order. Vegetable tanned leather is initially more stiff when compared to chrome tanned leather but it wears in nicely over time and veg tanned leather does accept “stamping” and tooling.

I’m interested in learning to make leather goods, do you teach classes?

Currently, Megan does not offer any group classes. However, she does offer one-on-one sessions devoted to new and aspiring leatherworkers.

If you’re a seasoned leathersmith, this would not be a good fit for you. However, if you’ve never worked with leather or are just starting out and want to shorten the learning curve with a targeted session focused on the necessary basics to move forward with a solid leatherwork foundation, then a personal “Leatherwork 101” session with Megan might be for you.
